embedded data is an IoT technology company based in Germany. Since 2017, we have been developing complete solutions for industrial machinery and equipment manufacturers in the DACH region who want to bring connected products to market. We are independently financed, with our development center in Germany and strategic investors from the industry (including Gebr. Kemper GmbH & Co. KG).

**Production-proven since 2017:**

Our david IoT platform is based on verified building blocks that have been proven in productive use for years – with over 30 installations in railway technology, building technology, mechanical engineering, and condition monitoring. Our platform runs in critical infrastructures (e.g., railway technology) in 24/7 operation.

Through pre-integrated hardware-software stacks, development time is reduced from typically years to months. IoT projects often fail due to complexity: device management, updates, security, and the integration of 5+ vendors. We solve these problems through an integrated platform from a single source.

**Technological Independence:**

Our solution is based on standard technologies (Docker, PostgreSQL, MQTT, REST) and is cloud-agnostic. The containers run on any infrastructure: private cloud, on-premise, or with hyperscalers like AWS and Azure. Source code access is available upon request, ensuring long-term control and an exit strategy; no vendor lock-in.

**Compliance and Security:**

david IoT meets the requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) through updateable systems, security-by-design, and complete documentation. The solution is GDPR-compliant and supports regulatory requirements in regulated industries. OS updates and security patches are included – we take system responsibility.

david IoT

david IoT is a production-ready IoT platform that covers the full digitalization stack: from edge gateway to data processing and cloud visualization. It eliminates typical integration friction through pre-integrated hardware-software stacks. No integration of 5+ vendors is required. **Edge/Gateway (Embedded Linux):** david IoT runs on industrial gateways (partner hardware) and supports common interfaces and protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, OPC UA, CAN, MQTT, and REST APIs. You model assets, data points, and alarms locally and can buffer data even without a cloud connection. Remote maintenance and over-the-air updates are part of the system. **Cloud-Plattform (david IoT Backend):** The backend provides hierarchical data models, multi-tenancy (separate environments), role-based access, and REST APIs to integrate into existing IT landscapes (e.g. ERP/CRM). Reporting and exports can be automated. **Extensibility and control:** The platform is container-based (Docker) and can be extended via extensions or custom application logic. The stack is built on standard technologies (e.g. Docker, PostgreSQL, MQTT, REST). Deployment is flexible: on-premise, private cloud, or hyperscalers. Source code access is available upon request to avoid vendor lock-in and secure an exit strategy. An initial proof of concept is often feasible within 4–6 weeks. MVPs are typically delivered in 3–6 months.
