About us
peptech GmbH is a young technology company based in Kernen in the Remstal valley near Stuttgart. The name "peptech" stands for "printed electronic process technology." The company specializes in the development and manufacture of sensor systems and edge devices for process automation and process analysis.
One of peptech's core products is its custom-developed edge devices for processing, analyzing, and storing process data. An edge device is a device integrated into a local network to process, analyze, and store data before sending it to central systems or the cloud.
The main advantages of edge devices are, on the one hand, the reduction of latency and bandwidth usage because the data is processed locally. This is particularly important for time-critical applications, such as real-time data. On the other hand, local processing improves data protection and security, as less sensitive data needs to be sent over the network.
peptech's core competencies include hardware and firmware development, prototype manufacturing, system integration and process understanding, and data analysis. Customer-specific adaptations and special solutions can be easily adapted, realized, and implemented based on the modular Edge Devices approach.
The Edge Devices developed by peptech are currently used in pharmaceutical process technology. Other areas such as medical technology and robotics are also in the focus of development.

Edge Devices: An Edge Device is a device integrated into a local network to process, analyze, and store data before sending it to central systems or the cloud.
The main advantages of Edge Devices are reduced latency and bandwidth usage, as data is processed locally. This is particularly important for time-critical applications, such as real-time data processing. Furthermore, local processing improves data protection and security, as less sensitive data needs to be sent over the network. peptech provides a modular Edge Device platform that allows edge devices to be modified and expanded for specific applications, thus capturing a wide range of specific sensor data in the form of analog and digital data. The core component is a carrier board with a System on Module (SoM) featuring peptech's proprietary interfaces for connecting four modules for analog and digital signals. The carrier board also features two Ethernet interfaces and two USB 3.0 interfaces. The advantage of the modular design of the Edge Device is that the system can be adapted and expanded to meet the needs of existing process technology. We develop exclusively customized solutions based on the edge device platform.
